CARING FOR YOUR LEATHER PIECE
Share
Your new leather item isn’t just an accessory—it’s a companion that will age with you in style and tell your story. Here’s how to care for it and enjoy it to the fullest.
AGE IT. WEAR IT. OWN IT
ABOUT OUR LEATHER
We work exclusively with full-grain leather, the highest expression of quality in the leather world. This material retains its natural character, including unique marks and imperfections that tell a one-of-a-kind story.
Our leather comes from responsible suppliers in Spain, carefully selected for their commitment to quality and sustainability. Each piece is tanned by hand using traditional vegetable tanning techniques passed down through generations. This process uses natural tannins extracted from tree barks like quebracho, chestnut, and oak, as well as plants like mimosa. Unlike chemical or industrial tanning, this method preserves the authenticity of the material, respecting both tradition and the environment.
The result is exceptional leather—resilient, durable, and full of personality. Each piece has subtle variations in texture and color that celebrate its natural and artisanal origins. These characteristics aren’t imperfections; they’re proof of honest, authentic craftsmanship, making each item a unique and irreplaceable companion.
THE LEATHER’S
NATURAL SOFTENING
At first, you might notice your leather feels a bit stiff. Don’t worry—that’s completely normal. With use, it will gradually soften and adapt, becoming as comfortable and flexible as a great pair of new leather shoes.
If you’d like to speed up this process, you can “break in” your piece by gently bending it back and forth a few times—always respecting its limits to avoid damage. By doing this in various directions, you’ll see how the leather becomes much softer right away.
Additionally, you can nourish it with a small amount of leather-specific conditioner or even a drop of body lotion, and you’ll quickly notice increased flexibility and shape. If you decide to hydrate it, we recommend applying the cream to the inner side of the leather, as applying it to the outer side, known as the “grain,” might slightly darken or change its tone, or alter some of the aging effects we’ve applied to our pieces.
HOW TO CARE
FOR YOUR PIECE
Leather is a noble material and, with a little care, can last a lifetime. If your piece isn’t very dirty, simply wipe it down with a dry or slightly damp cloth to keep it looking great.
If you notice the leather feels a bit dry—perhaps after exposure to sun or water—hydrate it by applying a thin layer of leather-specific cream or oil. If you don’t have these products on hand, body lotion can be a good alternative in a pinch. We recommend applying the conditioner on the inner side of the leather, unless you notice the grain is very worn. In that case, you can apply it to the outer side, keeping in mind that slight color variations might occur, especially with colored pieces.
Our pieces come with a protective finish that makes them more resilient, but it’s always a good idea to avoid prolonged exposure to rain or intense sunlight.
With these simple care tips, your leather won’t just maintain its beauty—it will gain character over time, developing a unique patina that tells your story.
