Viking leather bracer Vegvisir & Drakar
Viking leather bracer Vegvisir & Drakar
The galdrastafir were supposedly used to channel magic in specific ways such as fertility, guidance through a storm, and protection in battle, guidance, and assistance with specific tasks or areas of life. Those effects would be different depending on their shape.
In many cases, the symbols were made by combining the runes that made up the Old Norse alphabet. They were drawn onto specific areas of the body or physical objects, such as the side of boats or buildings
Pronounced “VEGG-vee-seer”, means “That Which Shows the Way” so finally it means "the pointer of the way" and translates to "sign post" or "way finder".
It is an eight-pointed shape, with each point having a unique design, and is described as follows:
“If this sign is carried, one will never lose one’s way in storms or bad weather, even when the way is not known.”
And so, the symbol was drawn onto the forehead to ensure that the person didn’t get lost when leaving home. Supposedly, it was drawn with blood.
Bracers are both an important piece of armor and a way to clearly distinguish the origin of your character.
The bracers are essential for any period, medieval or fantasy cosplay, and without them, most of the outfits seem unfinished.

Custom Options
Some products can be customized—whether it’s a color change, a different finish, adding or removing elements, or adjusting for special sizes (very large or very small). If you'd like to personalize your item, you can leave a note in the checkout box or email us to discuss the details.
Customization depends on feasibility—some things are possible, others may not be, and pricing varies depending on the complexity of the changes. Small modifications may just require an additional charge, but if the requested changes are extensive, it may be considered a fully custom order, which means designing a new piece from scratch with separate pricing.
Once we’ve gone over the details and agreed on what’s possible and the cost, you’ll be able to pay for the customization separately and receive your item tailored to your request.
If you have something in mind, just ask! We’ll be happy to guide you through what’s possible and how to make it work in the best way.
